Hope all is going well in life and at the tables. Poker has been very +ev for me, as I have continued to have success in the 180 mans on Stars (a couple more final tables in the past few days… this is getting ridiculous =P) I’ve been doing good (…or running good?) in the MTT scene too, which I’m pretty stoked about. 3rd in the Midnight Madness last week… meh, should’ve been 1st but it just turned into a big crapshoot at the end. So far things have been good. Just cashed out a bit last week, so I’ll have some extra dough to spend. But yeah, school is going slow… couple of midterms this week so I won’t be playing till after my tests. Like I said before, I have a pretty chill schedule. Life is good, school is good, poker is good.

And on that note, watch out, because I’m gonna take over the world… I promise

So winter quarter just ended and spring quarter just started this past Wednesday. I don’t have class on Mondays and Fridays, so that’s a 4-day weekend every weekend.. go me! But I’ll still be pretty busy studying for the upcoming MCAT on May 11th, so I won’t be playing a TON like before, but definitely a lot more than last quarter. So yeah school just started this past Wednesday and I have a pretty chill schedule like I said. Started playing again, but this time jumping into the 180 man tournaments on PokerStars. I had played a couple over winter break, having some success in them; I made like 2 final tables during that one week I played. Anyway so I’ve been playing the 180s this past week and I’ve done pretty well. These past 7 days have included 5 final tables! Results: two 1sts, a 4th, a 5th, and a 6th. They pay pretty well too so that’s always good haha. I actually just got 4th like an hour ago. I was trying to win 2 FTs in one day… sad to see it didn’t happen though =( Also been branching out into MTTs… I had started to play em before I went into poker hibernation so I’m back at it again. Hopefully they turn out as well as the 180s! It’s getting late, and even though I don’t have class Mondays I’m pretty damn tired. GG GL kids

As many of you know, this new year has brought new changes for me. Poker-wise, I have had less and less time to play due to my absolute pwnage of school and MCAT classes. Poker has been thrown on the backburner, for this quarter at least. Seriously, I play about 1 session a week (if I’m lucky). 1 session for me involves multi-tabling SNGs, so I get in about 2-3 games at once (which takes about an hour at most). It’s a shame, too, because I’m doing really well in the SNGs. But I guess it’s good that I can play at least once a week so as to not forget everything. I’ve only played 16 SNGs since the start of 07! Crazy huh? I remember the days of me playing at least 16 SNGS in one day. Meh, oh well. The first 4 I played this year, 2 finishes were ITM (in the money) and the other 2 SNGs… well, I was playing on campus and kept getting d/c so I had to have a friend take over. Wasn’t ITM in those 2 SNGs, if I had played it might be different but shit happens and you gotta move on. My last 12 SNGs = 9 cashes, which is a 75% ITM rate. The places I’ve finished are irrelevant since your main goal is to be ITM when it comes to SNGs (but if you really want to know, I’ve only had 1 3rd place finish). I feel I finally have the main concepts of SNGs down. Like I said, it sucks that I can’t be playing the same volume as I had been before but more important things come first.

Looking to get into back into MTTs next quarter. I’ve never really been an MTT guy, I guess cause I’ve had so much success in SNGs. But from the MTTs that I have played (Sunday majors, 180 mans, various $ Guarantees), they look to be pretty profitable. Or maybe I have high aspirations to be like Faraz, Kevin, and Andy… who knows.

The pokerhaus had a party last night. I was gonna fly down again but totally forgot that I had other shit to do… oh well, next time guys. Guess my study break is over. Don’t know when I’ll post again (seeing as how this is a poker blog and I don’t play much anymore), so till then, gl kids.

Edit: I just realized what a small sample size I provided. LOL whoops. Don’t base my confidence on that, just truuuuuuust me.

So yesterday was all about poker… from noon - 6 am. Long day, no? =x; I was playing the majors with The-Toilet and PaypuhStacka. Anyway, played pretty well for the most part. Only a couple of mistakes but I’m pretty happy with my play. Played in the Sunday Million, the Second Chance, and a 109 on Stars; the 500k Guaranteed and the 75K Mulligan on Tilt; a 109 (200K Gtd? idk) on UB; and another 109 (some other Gtd) on Bodog. Cashed in the Sunday Million and went deep in the 109 on Stars, busting in 12th. Did well in the other tournies, busting when my higher PP got cracked by a lower PP (KK < 33 in level 2 of the Bodog tourny and AA < 88 Second Chance on Stars, just to name a FEW). It just wasn’t a good day to be a high PP. But yeah, played pretty well and would’ve gone deeper if it wasn’t for the bad beats. But hey, it happens.

After the majors were over, I decided to play some small tournies. The-Toilet left and went home after the 6 Handed Max on FT, so it was just me and PaypuhStacka grinding it out at the lower stakes. We were just playing a bunch of SNGs, MTTs, and 180 mans. Richard went deep in a $5 MTT, but I forgot what place he busted in so I guess this statement was irrelevant. I managed to FT another $4.40 180 man, busting in 3rd when my 1010 < A8.

Yes, what a bad beat. I most surely would’ve won the tourny if I had won that hand, as I would’ve had a commanding chip lead. Oh well, shit happens. Hi kids-

So I’ve finally mounted my comeback into online poker after the death of PartyPoker. After all the waiting I’ve had to do (checks clearing and my Neteller), I’m now playing on PokerStars and Full Tilt. The Stars SNGs take a lot longer to complete, but I like the structure a lot better than Party’s. Let’s just see if the Stars SNGs can be as profitable to me as the Party ones were. I’ve been playing mainly cash games on Full Tilt due to their small amount of players; it takes forever for a SNG to start on Tilt. It’s been awhile since I’ve played online but I’m getting the feel for it again. So far so good. It feels good to be able to play and make $ again. in case you guys haven’t heard, online poker has hit a snafu. i don’t feel like explaining everything, so i’ll post the links at the end of the post (thanks to kevin). anyway, i just cashed out my entire BR on Party… i just didn’t feel safe having all my $ on it. call me paranoid, but whatever. i plan on buying back into another site as soon as the $ hits my bank account. im thinking about full tilt… we’ll see. but since i haven’t been able to play online lately, i’ve had a lot more time. gotta find a new way to earn an income i guess. anyway my cashout should hit my bank account soon and i should be back on the online felt in no time. will update later. peace kids.

hello kids -

so this is my first post. now that school has started, i haven’t been able to play as much as i would like to. i have a pretty easy schedule so once i get in the groove of things poker should pick right up where it left off in the summer. speaking of poker, i’ve been on a small downswing as of late. i’ve been having a lot of - net profit days and not as many + net days as before. idk, i gotta re-examine my game and see what’s going wrong. this is another reason i haven’t been playing as much; i’ve been going over HH’s and watching more pkrxfactor. anyway time to go. will post soon.
