Ok, So I started off January real bad. I was not focused. But since I wrote my first blog on here and decided that I was going to focus 100% when I play and stop dicking around I have done pretty well. Still, January was a losing month. I lost $132.39. -$169.37 in cash games. I did not play a single cash game session since my first entry. I lost $347 in MTT’s. I played 50 this month and had a 14% ITM rate. However, I only played 13 since Jan 20th and cashed in 5 of those. I went 0/3 since Jan 26th (the date of my first entry). I went 0/3 in 180s since the 26th and finished the month +$19.68 in 180s. I lost $71 in satellites in January.

Well my main focus right now are sit and goes, so I will talk about them a bit more. In January, I played 208 total with a total profit of $435.30. I had an ROI of 17.12% and made $2.09 per SNG. My ITM rate was 39.9%. My HU win rate was 63.3% and my bubble cash rate was 78.3%. Almost all of these 208 were $6 or $15 turbos on stars.

Since writing the first entry on Jan 26th, I played 74 sng’s making $280. My ROI was 34.42% and I made $3.78 per SNG. My ITM rate was 44.59%, my HU win rate was 62.5% and my bubble cash rate was 76.74%. During this time period I played 33 $16 turbos and the rest were $6.50 turbos. I feel like I played alright but I definitely see tons of room for improvement. I really feel I can crush this game very consistently and will be at the $35s in no time. I just do not know if I will make more money at the $35s then I can at the $16s.

My roll at this point is approximately $894. I did increase my roll by about $130 from someone who owed me money, but the rest is from playing. Five days ago my roll was at $467 and now its at $894. I am really happy about that and I feel like it will continue to grow if I keep on focusing. I think my goal of getting to the $35 sng level is very attainable by the end of february. So, for the time being I want to heavily focus on multi tabling the $16 sng’s and play a few MTTs to improve that game.

GL at the tables,

Mike

Hello, My name is Michael Aron. My online handles are no not baxter/moneyinbag. I am a freshman at the Indiana University. I am from West Palm Beach, Florida. I got my start in poker during the Moneymaker boom. In 9th grade, a lot of the kids at school would play for play money on Pokerroom. Then, in tenth grade, I somehow found out about Full Tilt Poker. The site was still in Beta but my friends and I enjoyed playing it. When they first opened up, they had tons of freerolls and my friends and I would play these all the time. Eventually, a few of my friends found a way to deposit (we were underage at the time) and I followed suit. I was not bad at all for first starting out. I did very well in the $5 sit and goes and won a few $5 MTT’s. I even managed to bust Layne Flack, earning myself a t-shirt saying “You busted Layne Flack at Full Tilt Poker.com.” When Tilt first introduced razz, I absolutely dominated the game. For some reason I just understood the game very well right from the get go. However, I do not play it anymore as it bores me. I was a very decent player back then, but I had no idea of many of the concepts I know of today, especially bankroll management. I went broke many times and I had probably lost about 1.5k (due to playing way out of my bankroll) before I finally started to get it. I do not have a great memory. Actually, I have an absolutely horrid memory. So, the timing of certain things in my poker career is sort of a blur. But during my junior and senior years of high school, I bought poker books, read the forums on FCP a little (not really strategy), played a lot of home games, and started going to my local kennel club. After a few decent scores, I was back in the green for my lifetime career earnings. I deposited on a couple different poker sites, but then eventually settled with Pokerstars and Full Tilt.

Ever since this summer, I have been trying to work on my game so much because I really want to be a great player. I have mostly been playing MTTs since this summer. I was not doing great in them, but I was surviving. More recently, I have played more SNGs and cash games. I acquired Poker Office through an offer with Titan Poker. I bought Cardrunners and Poker X Factor and also became acquainted with many other poker tools. I started to track my results using excel. Basically, I have been trying to do anything to improve my game. But, something is wrong. I am not giving it 100%. From today on forth, I am going to spend as much time as I can improving my game. I want to be very open in this blog and will not be afraid to give any of my bankroll numbers. I feel like this is the best way to learn more about myself and my game.

Back in December, I was doing extremely well in all aspects of my game (sng, mtt, and cash). I had about 3k to my name on stars. But once again I was a BR management donk and it has gone down.

Here are my results so far for January:

- Cash: -$148.22

- SNG: $154.30

- 180s: $32.88

- MTT: -$333.50

- Sats: -$71

My current bankroll (spread out over FTP, UB, Stars, and Bodog) is approximately $467.

From here on out I am going to proceed under these bankroll guidelines. If you see me get out of line, whip my ass, post about how I am a BR donk, just do something.

- Cash: 40 buyins, if drop below 30 buyins then drop down

- SNG: 45 buyins

- MTT: 80 buyins

Also, I am going to try to set many goals. My goals are as follows for February:

- Maintain good bankroll management

- Have a 1k+ score in an MTT

- Consistently be able to beat .10/.25 NL

- Be bankrolled for $35 Turbos ($1575)

- Be able to beat the $27 Turbos

For the next week I plan to play mostly $6 turbos and some .05/.10 NL with a few $4 180s and $5 MTTs thrown in there when I can find the time.

I plan to update frequently as I believe it will help improve my game. I hope some of you guys will enjoy reading about my progress as well.

Good luck everybody,

Mike
