So yesterday was all about poker… from noon - 6 am. Long day, no? =x; I was playing the majors with The-Toilet and PaypuhStacka. Anyway, played pretty well for the most part. Only a couple of mistakes but I’m pretty happy with my play. Played in the Sunday Million, the Second Chance, and a 109 on Stars; the 500k Guaranteed and the 75K Mulligan on Tilt; a 109 (200K Gtd? idk) on UB; and another 109 (some other Gtd) on Bodog. Cashed in the Sunday Million and went deep in the 109 on Stars, busting in 12th. Did well in the other tournies, busting when my higher PP got cracked by a lower PP (KK < 33 in level 2 of the Bodog tourny and AA < 88 Second Chance on Stars, just to name a FEW). It just wasn’t a good day to be a high PP. But yeah, played pretty well and would’ve gone deeper if it wasn’t for the bad beats. But hey, it happens.

After the majors were over, I decided to play some small tournies. The-Toilet left and went home after the 6 Handed Max on FT, so it was just me and PaypuhStacka grinding it out at the lower stakes. We were just playing a bunch of SNGs, MTTs, and 180 mans. Richard went deep in a $5 MTT, but I forgot what place he busted in so I guess this statement was irrelevant. I managed to FT another $4.40 180 man, busting in 3rd when my 1010 < A8.

Yes, what a bad beat. I most surely would’ve won the tourny if I had won that hand, as I would’ve had a commanding chip lead. Oh well, shit happens. Maybe I should keep playing these $4.40s, as I’ve been pretty successful in them. I guess I’ll have to if the $10 and $20 keep taking forever to fill up!

Well after that win, I decided to try and sat my way into the $350k grtd on Sunday. In the first sat, I failed. In the second sat, I beat out 150 ppl by winning the satellite to get my seat. In the $350k I lost 2/3 of my stack early but eventually recovered and in the second hour, I had 3200 blinds 80/160. After a limp and a raise, I jam my AQ into AA…..gg me.

So after that, I staked a player in a $5.50 Mtt. There were 400 or so people in it, he finishes 4rth for $180. Ship the $90 w00t!

Alright so then I decide to fuck around in a $1 mtt because my friend SSPadawon4 was in it playing his whole bankroll on FT. I ended up having to leave after the second hour but I had a ton of chips and ended up blinding out 50th out of 900 ppl for $2 lmao. When I left SSPada was doing great and playing pretty good too. I look today and he finished 2nd for $130. Nice job bro, now you have some money to play with for a while. Also, thanks for shipping me $30 of your $60 debt.

Alright so yesterday, I decided to enter the $11 Deep Stack tournament on Stars with 1/2 my br. lol

Within the first half hour I was up to 12,000 in chips and doing very good. I kept my stack around 12k deep into the 2nd hour or so until I get involved in a huge pot where I limp with 87d flop comes 569 (2 spades) guy open pushes with As8s, spade on river obvvvvvvvv. At the 2nd break, I had 6k, at the 3rd break I still had 6k and finally before the 4rth break I doubled up with AA back up to 12k. Right before the 4rth break, I get involved in a huge pot with AA on a KT4 flop against AK

Turn: Blank

River: K obvvvvvvvvvvvvv.

In hour #5 I made a good call.

utg raises to 1800, I call 1200 more in the bb with AT.

Flop: J 3 5 chk/chk

Turn: 6 he bets 1200, I call.

River: 8 he bets 2400, I go with my gut and make the call and he shows A7. So after that call and a couple other hands, I go to the 5th break with 24k and 30 away from the money. From there to into the 9th hour, I just play good poker and keep accumulating chips till this pot comes up.

That hand crippled me but I wasn’t about to give up. Within a matter of minutes I ran the 20k up to around 200k by 8th break. At this point, theres 16 ppl left and I’m in 12th which was about the norm for most of the tournament. Being 12/16 is kind of deceiving though as I had a massive stack compared to the blinds.

So finally I made it to the final table and due to raising a ton of pots at the FT and picking up a lot of dead money I became the cl before I lose 400k of my 1 million stack with AhQc on a Jh 8h 6h flop against JTo when I don’t hit. Then after getting my stack back up to a million I lose 700k with Ac5c on a 3c 9c Th flop against 33 when I don’t hit. I grinded the ss for a very long time and eventually busted in 5th place out of 892 people for $500. I played good throughout the tournament and can’t be too dissapointed in 5th place because there wasn’t a helluva lot I could do. This tournament set a couple records also. First, it took more than 11 hours for me to bust and thats definitely the longest poker tournament I’ve ever played in. Also, I was at my starting table for more than 3 hours without moving. I’m not sure if I can go through that again but it definitely was fun yesteday.

So after I busted out of that tournament which started at noon and now its about 11:30pm I decide to enter the Midnight Madness. This tournament was pretty much a blurr for me. I remember in the first hour I kept accumulating a ton of chips by hitting a couple flops and having a couple cold decks go my way. By the end of the second hour we had cashed and I was in excellent shape. (9/202)

I honesty don’t rememeber much except for the fact that now I had signed off AIM to focus on this tournament. I guess a little while later I was in 6/53 and then 9/32. Only reason I know that is because of the updates I gave on FCP. At this point, I was running pretty hot. Alright so then I was chip leader with 12 left and made this call.

This is what happens when I go with my gut. I was running extremely hot in this tournament like Jamie Gold or somethin but I also was playing well and I knew that I was after I made that call. He said it was the best call hes ever seen and that he would remember it for a while. That always makes ya feel good.

So finally we get down to the final table and I think I started 3/9. People started dropping like flies and I just sat back and bided my time. I think I played 2 hands in the first 30. I honestly don’t remember a helluva lot except for the fact that I was playing my A game and it was gonna take a lot to beat me. I had one huge pot where my top 2 pair held against 4rth pair. Then lets see I won a huge pot with top set when I bet the whole way down and he called me with a gutshot then made a pair and paid me off. So now we were 3 handed blinds 12/24k I have 1.8 million, both of them have about 250k. I bust one guy when my KT hold against his Q8 aipf and now we’re HU.

He limps on the button, I check in bb with Q5s.

Flop: Q59 I chk, he bets 24k, I raise to 48k, he jams 100k more, I call. He has 93. ONE TIME HOLD UP!!!

Best feeling in the world winning a poker tournament and this one was my biggest. 1,339 ppl in, SHIP ITTTTTTTTTTT

Man, I’ve been talkin about “the big score” for months now and feels so good to finally be rewarded for all the hard work you put in. Can’t even describe how I felt after I won. It was 6am and I decide to turn the computer on full blast and blast my official mtt win theme song “what you know” by T.I. and I’m dancin around like a crazy man and opening up the front door to scream random shit out. lol

Ship the 3k in one day pleeeeeeeeease. Pretty sick day, I play 11 hours, finish 5th out of 892 ppl for $500 then half hour later I enter MM and 5 hours later ship me the $2,500 and the win. I think I earned the respect of some players and that definitely means a lot too. Now I have a decesion to make with what I’m going to do with the money. But as for right now, I’m just going to enjoy it.

I started off the weekend playin in the $11 Stars Deep Stacked. I absolutely love these Deep Stacked tournaments. I’ve only played two of them but I might put some more money on stars to play them. Anyways, I survived 3 hours with 5,000 staying patient and eventually got all my money in in a huge pot with 44 on a 4 7 2 flop against KK, K on the turn……..gg me.

So then in back to back satellites I busted 20th out of about 100 for exactly $0.

First one: AA vs. KQ K on flop, K on river

Second One: KJ on a J 6 4 flop against AQ, Q on turn.

I win either of those pots, I was probably gonna be playing in the 350k and the 50k but blahhhh whatever. Shit happens.

So anyway for the first time in forever I finally won a satellite entry. It was into the $35k grtd ($163 buy in).

It was a helluva first hour

I start out at a table with phat_cat1 to my immediate left, Arbianight to my immediate right and Celtic Glide also at my table.

Pretty much the whole hour me and phatcat ran the table but I was mostly catching hands.

Key hand: I raise in mp with 99, phatcat calls, donk calls.

Flop: 6 4 2 rainbow, I bet out 500 into 600 chip pot, phatcat calls (this scares me) and donk moves all in for 2000. I literally took down to the last second and made the call. I felt I had the best hand against the donk but felt phatcat was possibly trapping with a higher pp. I figured even if he does have a higher pair, he can’t call. Maybe with aces but otherwise he can’t. Phat cat folds and donk shows 55 and somehow I hold. He later goes “wtf” and said he had me beat.

First Break: 6,500

Reads were very good as well as play.

Second Break: 7,400

AA no action
QQ no action
2nd nut flush no action

…..and so on. Didn’t get too many hands and when I got them no action. Oh well. I was still in very good shape. For a while I was at a table that had all donks cept for one good player. I also had Jamie Gold’s twin at my table. He had 40k blinds 120/240 and he was absolutely smashed by the deck. Right before break, I got hattrick moved to my immediate left, soooooo sick. I was playing my A+ game and my reads were being unusually good.
Finally after a tough hand where I probably should’ve checked the flop with AQ, I was down to 4k blinds 200/400 and moved in with 55, called by JJ…..gg me. I busted I think 80/320. Once again, I play my A game, last 2-3 hours and bust deep without a cash. Felt pretty good at my play and also felt good to play in a big tournament. Unfortunately once again, nothing to show for it.

In the near future I might take a shot buying in directly into one of these tournaments. I mean its horrible bankroll management but it seems that only in these big tournaments do I actually play my A+ game and the structure and players makes it completely different from the tournaments I’m used to. Theres actually poker to be played. In every single one of the big tournaments I’ve played I’ve gone deep, usually about 2-4 hours but have only cashed in one because I havn’t caught any breaks late. Eventually I’ll catch a break late and get the “big cash” that I keep referring to but I’m not sure how much longer I wanna wait to get it. I mean I probably should keep grinding but eventually I gotta take a couple shots and I might in the near future. We’ll see what happens.
