Well since my last post a couple of things happened. I took 2^nd in the Pokerhaus open which was pretty cool and I also cashed in the $30k grtd. Scott Fischman ended up busting me and going on to win the tournament, emptyseatownage . I also chopped a $4.40 180 man sng. If you heard about the deal, you know how unreal it was and plus the money didn’t matter to me but still kinda funny chopping that lol

I’m not gonna bitch about how badly I’ve been running lately but I will say that I hope my luck will turn around sooner than later. I know I havn’t been playing my A+ game every tourney and I know that really affects my chances of doing well everytime out but I dunno I just can’t seem to catch a break. My br hasn’t suffered tremendously but it has been affected by this downswing and this is the time where I could go on a run to lose half of it or go on a run to increase it by 500%. Its make or break time.

As many of you know, this new year has brought new changes for me. Poker-wise, I have had less and less time to play due to my absolute pwnage of school and MCAT classes. Poker has been thrown on the backburner, for this quarter at least. Seriously, I play about 1 session a week (if I’m lucky). 1 session for me involves multi-tabling SNGs, so I get in about 2-3 games at once (which takes about an hour at most). It’s a shame, too, because I’m doing really well in the SNGs. But I guess it’s good that I can play at least once a week so as to not forget everything. I’ve only played 16 SNGs since the start of 07! Crazy huh? I remember the days of me playing at least 16 SNGS in one day. Meh, oh well. The first 4 I played this year, 2 finishes were ITM (in the money) and the other 2 SNGs… well, I was playing on campus and kept getting d/c so I had to have a friend take over. Wasn’t ITM in those 2 SNGs, if I had played it might be different but shit happens and you gotta move on. My last 12 SNGs = 9 cashes, which is a 75% ITM rate. The places I’ve finished are irrelevant since your main goal is to be ITM when it comes to SNGs (but if you really want to know, I’ve only had 1 3rd place finish). I feel I finally have the main concepts of SNGs down. Like I said, it sucks that I can’t be playing the same volume as I had been before but more important things come first.

Looking to get into back into MTTs next quarter. I’ve never really been an MTT guy, I guess cause I’ve had so much success in SNGs. But from the MTTs that I have played (Sunday majors, 180 mans, various $ Guarantees), they look to be pretty profitable. Or maybe I have high aspirations to be like Faraz, Kevin, and Andy… who knows.

The pokerhaus had a party last night. I was gonna fly down again but totally forgot that I had other shit to do… oh well, next time guys. Guess my study break is over. Don’t know when I’ll post again (seeing as how this is a poker blog and I don’t play much anymore), so till then, gl kids.

Ok, So I started off January real bad. I was not focused. But since I wrote my first blog on here and decided that I was going to focus 100% when I play and stop dicking around I have done pretty well. Still, January was a losing month. I lost $132.39. -$169.37 in cash games. I did not play a single cash game session since my first entry. I lost $347 in MTT’s. I played 50 this month and had a 14% ITM rate. However, I only played 13 since Jan 20th and cashed in 5 of those. I went 0/3 since Jan 26th (the date of my first entry). I went 0/3 in 180s since the 26th and finished the month +$19.68 in 180s. I lost $71 in satellites in January.

Well my main focus right now are sit and goes, so I will talk about them a bit more. In January, I played 208 total with a total profit of $435.30. I had an ROI of 17.12% and made $2.09 per SNG. My ITM rate was 39.9%. My HU win rate was 63.3% and my bubble cash rate was 78.3%. Almost all of these 208 were $6 or $15 turbos on stars.

Since writing the first entry on Jan 26th, I played 74 sng’s making $280. My ROI was 34.42% and I made $3.78 per SNG. My ITM rate was 44.59%, my HU win rate was 62.5% and my bubble cash rate was 76.74%. During this time period I played 33 $16 turbos and the rest were $6.50 turbos. I feel like I played alright but I definitely see tons of room for improvement. I really feel I can crush this game very consistently and will be at the $35s in no time. I just do not know if I will make more money at the $35s then I can at the $16s.

My roll at this point is approximately $894. I did increase my roll by about $130 from someone who owed me money, but the rest is from playing. Five days ago my roll was at $467 and now its at $894. I am really happy about that and I feel like it will continue to grow if I keep on focusing. I think my goal of getting to the $35 sng level is very attainable by the end of february. So, for the time being I want to heavily focus on multi tabling the $16 sng’s and play a few MTTs to improve that game.
