I could write pages and pages on the Red Sox and what they just accomplished but I’ll try and keep it short. As I stated before, the Red Sox are a better team than the Indians and wow was that proven in these last 3 games. Argueably two of the best starting pitchers in baseball got absolutely lit up in their 4 starts. One of the best relievers in the AL, Rafael Betancourt, was pounded giving up 7 runs last night. They beat them in every facet of the game. Beckett proved why hes the AL Cy Young, their offense could not be stopped and the defense made some outstanding catches. I think its very easy to look past what the Red Sox accomplished because of how they did it. Only a handful of teams in major league baseball history have ever come back from being down 3-1 and they did just that. Also, with history pointing towards them being destined to come back it almost became expected. We got it back to Boston and steamrolled over the those clowns. Fuck the Indians. They run their mouths, basically trash our team, try and show us up and what did we do? We FUCKED YOU UP.
Looking towards the World Series I could not be anymore excited. Theres a possibility I might be able to go to the home games because we know one of the part owners of the Red Sox but I know its gonna be hard to get tickets for a World Series game at home. Nevertheless theres a chance it could happen so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
I’m really happy the Rockies made it to the World Series. They did the improbable and are on a sick run right now. I watched almost all of their post season games and they’re a very good team. Not to mention they seem like a classy team which is nice to see. Its kind of odd because once again I heard the early thoughts on the favorite and the general concensus is that the Red Sox are huge favorites to win it all. I dont think its going to be that easy though as both teams have a ton of momentum and anything can happen. I cannot wait for the World Series to start. I wish it started this second. lol

In about an hour or so the Boston Red Sox will be playing Game 7 of the ALCS against the Cleveland Clowns…….I mean Indians, Cleveland Indians. Sorry, I get confused now and then.
Last night was just awesome as they completely FUCKED UP Carmona proving once again that they are a better team than the Indians. The Indians are a very good team but they are not better than the Red Sox. Thats just a fact. Top to bottom they’re better and their pitching staff is much better. Throughout this series I’ve grown to dislike the Indians. I mean you have fuckin Lofton whos been a joke his whole career pulling his bullshit vs. Beckett and then Garko’s comments pissed me off. Oh yeah and Bryd uses roids. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I have to be honest, I’m a little nervous about tonight’s match up. Dice-K has not lived up to his potential this season and hes not like Schilling whos a big game pitcher. Although he did win the championship in Japan for the Seibeui (sp?) Lions. Westbrook scares me as he might pitch a gem tonight. I really think we need to score first and have Dice-K get off to a good start. If we can do that we’ll be in good shape. Also, the bottom of the lineup has really started to hit with JD Drew redeeming his whole regular and post season last night with that Grand Slam in the first and RBI single in the 2nd. We have Ellsbury in there whos phenominal and hopefully has a good night tonight. The post season is all about momentum and the Sox have it right now, not to mention they’re playing in Boston. With history on our side and the way the team has been playing its almost expected that they’ll make another unprecedented comeback. I’m not that confident though, I’m just anxious for the game to start.
Couple side notes:
Penn State won yesterday and Cowboys are winning by 10 right now.
Also, I’ve expierimented with 12 tabling, 8 tabling, 6 tabling, etc. and I still havn’t figured out what changes I’m going to make if any as far as sngs are concerned. I’ll keep ya updated.
Peace

Its official, I’ve now played 500 $36 Turbo Stts. The numbers are:
Average Profit $6.81
Average ROI 18%
Hourly Rate $37.44/hr
Total Profit $3,295
I’d say these numbers are good. I know my ROI has dropped 3 percentage points and that could be due to variance starting to catch up with me or just running bad this week. Nevertheless I’m ranked 8th on the Sharkscope leaderboard for Average Profit in $16-35 Non Turbo and Turbo 9-10 mans which is pretty cool. Also, I’m currently ranked 120th on the Full Tilt High Buy-In Sng Leaderboard so I’m really close to reaching my goal of top 100. As for the Ironman stuff, I’m 3 days away from Gold and 8 days away from Iron. I’ve also continued to play everyday in the month of October.
There are so many positives that have come out of trying out this expieriment to play only stts. For starters I’m making a consistent profit which is so hard to do in multis. Also, its forced me to play often which is something that I’ve struggled with ever since I started playing online. I think theres a fine line with being obsessed with the game and wanting to play all the time to try and get better. So for the fact that I truely believe if I wanted to I could take an extended period of time off I’m happy but the fact of the matter is that you can’t get better if you’re not playing. Another positive is that its forced me to set goals for myself which in turn is making me work 10x harder to achieve them. Also, friends asking you daily how sngs are goin makes you want to try harder.
There are of course some cons to playing all these stts. I think the main one would be the stress I feel myself going through. I’ve always been horrible at dealing with tilt and multi tabling sngs all day has brought out the worst in me. I dont tilt so much at the tables but I’d say after the majority of each session I’m tilted. The reason being that you’re almost never going to win all 4 sngs in a row which is what I try and do each time I play obviously. Also, the volume is sometimes hard to get in. Its hard to force yourself to play even when you’re not in the mood or you have something to do soon after.
Overall I’d say I’m really happy with where I’m at right now and I’m going to consider some other options of what I play, how often I play, how many tables I play, what stakes etc.
Some of you may be wondering why I put “2 more to go” in the title. This is because the Red Sox are 2 wins away from moving on to the World Series. They won their first elimination game Thursday night with an absolutely brilliant performance from Josh Beckett and finally putting some runs on the board. The Indians are a very good team but I think if both teams played their best each game, the Sox would be up 3-2 right now and win it in 6. Unfortunately they havn’t been playing their best so we’re down 3-2 heading into tonights game in Boston. I’ll be honest though, I feel we have a good shot now. Maybe its just been because theres been so much hype that the Sox will come back with history leaning towards it and the overall attitude of the players. We have Schill goin tonight who I feel very comfortable with in an elimination game. Hes a big game pitcher and if we lose with him in Boston then maybe we dont deserve to move on. One thing I can guarantee is that Fenway will be pumped up tonight and thats a huge advantage for the Sox. We get outta Cleveland with those douchebags waving their towels around and back into Boston where hopefully the Red Sox can win game six.
LETS GO SOX!!!!!!!!

2007
No, not with poker. I’m digusted with my beloved Boston Red Sox. Today I had to write a paper for my English class about a positive memory in my life. I chose the Red Sox winning the World Series as it was one of the greatest moments of my life. Tonight the sox lost to Cleveland and are now in a similar situation to 2004. They’re down 3-1 in the best of 7 ALCS series and have all the momentum against them. I’ll be honest with you, I feel almost the exact same way I did when the sox were down 3-0 to the Yankees in 2004. Back then I told people what a dissapointment the season had been and how we’re just gonna get swept like that to the Yankees and I’m sure tomorrow I will be doing the same. But truely in my heart I dont think its over. I’m just incapable of believing their out of the playoffs until the final out is made.
I also watched both of the games the same. Normally when it comes playoff time I’m that guy whos yelling at the TV, way too into the game, etc. but watching tonights game I couldn’t bring myself to going bazerk. I just watched the last 5 innings in silence. Just so many things have gone wrong for the Red Sox in this series its unreal. Yet, Beckett, Ortiz, Manny, and Lowell have played outstanding. I told people that Game 2 was a pivotal game in my mind and they kinda looked at me like I was crazy. Now it looks be very pivotal. If the sox win that game (which they easily should have) they go to Cleveland with momentum which is a huge part of playoff baseball and they go up 2-0 with the worst result is you come back to Boston down 1 game. Now we’re looking at not coming back to Boston until April.
I was wondering how it would be for the Red Sox to play this whole season and really going into the playoffs, as the big favorites. I’m always one who loves underdogs and thats why I’m happy the Rockies made the World Series. Unfortunately now what I’ve cheered for all these years being the Red Sox as underdogs is now coming back to bite me. The team whos hot but not on paper better than the Sox is kicking our ass.
We have tomorrow off and then Beckett will head out on full rest to face Sabathia on Thursday. Its due or die time for the Sox; they HAVE to win or they’re out. I dont want to get into what a huge dissapointment it would be if they can’t advance because its not over yet. Lets just take it one game at a time and hope they have some more magic left in them.

2007
Somehow I survived a whole month of strictly sngs and managed to not commit suicide.
The numbers are as follows:
368 $36 turbo 9 mans
Avg Profit $7.50
Avg ROI 21%
Total Number of Hours Worked 64
Total Profit $2,760
I’m very happy with these numbers. I’ve looked through numerous players on the Sng leaderboard and players who I think have a good understanding of play and the highest ROI I saw was 13%. Granted I think some of these players are 10-12 tabling but still, I have the highest ROI. I’ve thought about doing the same but I wont make a decesion on that until I finish 500 sngs.
To check-up on a couple other goals of mine, the one about playing everyday I’ve been able to do that, the one about reaching IronMan status, I only have to play a min of 12 sngs each day for 14 of the remaining 18 days in October, and the one about making top 100 on the High Sng Leaderboard, I’m currently ranked 170th so I have a little ways to go but I hope I can get there before the month is over.

2007
I headed into today with a negative attitude towards sngs. The past two days I had been running/playing bad and it was showing. I was only down $80 or so but it felt like a lot more. The first session went ok with one win for a profit. The next session I brick all four and I’m left tilted. I couldn’t figure out what was going on. It seemed like I was only making small mistakes and every single time I got punished. Even if I decided to play a hand differently, I got punished for it. For example 20/40 MP opens for 120, I flat otb with AA which is something I almost never do but I dont want to become too predictable. Flop: 77T, he bets, I raise, he shoves I call, he has 67s. I just couldn’t seem to do anything right. So I decide to play one more session for the day and it starts off pretty poorly and I’m tilted. After I suckout by making two poor pushes I’m focused again. Well, I go on to win 3 out of the 4 sngs in that session. All of a sudden instead of being stuck $200+, I’m up about $90 on the weekend.
Now am I still playing poorly but just getting lucky, who knows. I do however want to start having faith in myself that while maybe the variance has gone well for these first 320 stts, that I have to be doing something right to have a 21% ROI.
This weekend I’ve been thinking a lot about what things I can do differently not all directed towards my play and my plan is to stick with the $36 turbo stts for at least another 180 and then consider moving up. Also, I’m taking a couple thousand off because my bankroll is just rediculously too big for these and I’ll leave myself with around $3k which is still like 85 BI’s. Lets hope it goes well.

2007
In your wildest imagination did you ever think I would have this blog title? I know I sure didn’t. But it is indeed true. Life is good.
Last night, Yankee superstar Jaba Chamberlain blows the game for them and they go on to lose in the 11th to a walk off single to put them down 0-2 against the tribe. That alone had me pretty happy but then the sox game started and they went down 2-3 early. Dice K was struggling but then the bullpen came in. It was absolutely lights out, not allowing a hit for 5 innings. So I told my dad whom I was watching the game with, “you keep trying to get to Manny and sooner or later, he’s gonna pop one over the monster.” Two pitches later, one of the game’s best closers, K-Rod tries to sneak a fastball past Manny but he drills it over the monster to give the sox a bottom of the 9th thriller walk off to put them up 2-0 against the Angels.
So my favorite baseball team is up 2-0, my most hated team is down 0-2, but what about the Cowboys? Well Dallas is 4-0 and Tony Romo is making the haters eat their words. He’s been the best quarterback in the NFL thus far and the Cowboys have been outscoring their opponents left and right. They’re gonna be playing the Bills on Monday Night Football then off to play the Patriots next Sunday which will be a big test.
As for school, its been great. Its my senior year and its been a blast. We got our progress reports yesterday and I did pretty well which made my parents happy.
Poker has been going tremendously since I started this SNG experiment. In the past week, I’ve played exactly 100 $36 turbo Stts, have an ROI of 25% and a profit of $885. I’m seriously considering either taking some money out, moving up to $60 turbo Stts, or both. I want to put some more thought into it but as for now I have a couple goals. I want to be an Iron Man for the month of October and achieve the one-a-day challenge. To achieve the one-a-day challenge, I’d have to play at least one set of sngs each day every day till the end of October. To get the Iron Medal for the Iron Man Challenge of October I would have to play at least 12 sngs a day for 20 out of the last 25 days. Both will be pretty tough but I’m gonna try and achieve both those goals. One other goal I have for October is to get ranked top 100 on the High SNG Leaderboard. Its gonna be really hard because I only play stts and I’m playing the minimum buy in to qualify for it so I have to win a lot more sngs to equal one win in a $2190. At the moment though I’m ranked 231.
I’m excited about October and I have a lot a lot of work ahead of me but as for now, I’m going to enjoy the pure fact that life is good.
