This expierience with cash games is EXACTLY like the one I had with Sngs. Its spooky. Once again I thought to myself, I need to make a consistent steady profit which is so hard to do in multis so let me try something different. I went ahead and watched a ton of videos, bought tools to track my stats and starting playing a ton. Oh yeah and the results are the same. I started 4 tabling .50/1 NL 6 Max on March 21 and in 8 days played 10,000 hands.
Here are my results:
BB/100 +9.64
Total Profit +$1,924.55
Now I don’t know exactly how good these numbers are but I can imagine they’re pretty good. I need to do some more research on what a good BB/100 hands is for these stakes because I have no idea.
It’s gotta be beginner’s luck. I mean I can’t explain how I’m doing so well excect that I have to be running way above expectation. Just like in sngs tho, I’ve put in the bare amount of volume to be able to start judging your results. I could verrry comfortably play 2/4nl but I don’t think I’m even going to move up to 1/2nl for a while. I don’t think I’m ready so theres no reason to rush it.
In bracket news, I had my first loss in 10 games last night when Wisconsin fell to Davidson. I held off playing multis today because I don’t wanna be distracted when watchin the games tonight. Hopefully I can keep running insanely good in cash games and march madness.
Peace

Shockingly after having an aweful first round, my bracket isn’t busted. In fact, I’m actually in good shape. I’m in 2nd or 3rd in my pools and I have all my elite 8 teams left. There’s been some really exciting games thus far, I just wish I didn’t have to wait till Thursday to see some more madness.
The Red Sox had their opening day game this morning at 6:05 est. Yuckkkk. I woke up but watched the first hour half asleep before I had to leave for school. Apparently they pulled off a 10th inning win which is always nice. This is definitely my favorite of year. It’s starting to get warmer, March Madness is heating up and the Sox are trying to repeat as World Series Champions.
As for poker, I’ve been playing a ton of .50/1 6max. I downloaded PT and HUD and apparently I’ve put in about 5k hands. I really don’t know what is a good rate or how much I should have won by now but I’m doing well. I also played a couple multis on Saturday. I think I played 5 and cashed in 4. Unfortunately I ran bad late so no FT’s. Definitely frustrating to go deep so consistently and not make a FT or take down a tournament but I can’t complain. My time will come.
Peace

This is one of my favorite times of year. It’s March Madness. Unfortunately I’m only in two pools but I’m sure after my brackets go busto, I’ll be placing bets on single games. As for poker, I’ve been playing cash games. Yeeeeeeah, about that. Ummm, can I run really good one time? I’m starting out small by 4 tabling .50/1 Nl 6 max. I’ve been doing really well through maybe 2k hands but I’m sure that’s due mostly to me running way above expectation. This is also a chance for me to get maximum use of my CR’s sub which I admitidly have not done since I signed up with them. Hopefully I can have as much success with cash games as I had with sngs.
Peace

I’m going through a bit of a downswing right now. Hard to say exactly what I’m down but it’s my first significant downswing since I turned 18. Yesterday, I woke up ready to play. I took a shower, lifted some weights, and felt good. I played from 2pm to 12am. I played 18 tournaments and didn’t cash in one. In the old days, I would have threw some shit against the wall, bitched to a couple people, yelled some shit, and be done with it. Not this time. After I was out of everything, I took a bath, watched a movie, and went to bed feeling good that I wasn’t upset about the day.
I thought about it and as much as I tell people how hard poker is on you mentally, and how I much I hate the game, etc. I truely am blessed. I mean I haven’t had to work and yet I’m in better financial shape than all of my friends. I have something good and I don’t want that to go away. Just something to think about the next time you’re running bad and cursing out the game.
Till Next Time

Played a full schedule of multis over the weekend and got destroyed times 10. Although, I didn’t play as bad as my results would indicate. Not to mention, the last 5-6 multis I played, I didn’t care and wasn’t focused at all. Why? Well, I got the desk and I wanted to assemble it instead of playing poker so I blew them off. I spent my Saturday night from 2am-6am assembling this rediculously complicated desk. I completed almost all of it and decided I’d finish it Sunday morning.
I wake up around 1pm and realize that the directions deliberlately make you build the desk upsidedown so you have to flip it twice and then you put the top piece on and walla. I flip it once, no problem. The second flip, the right side snaps off and the rest of the pieces collapse. Like wtf, how do I run so bad in computer related items? This whole week I’ve been trying to figure out a way to salvage the desk and put it together but it just wasn’t happenin so today I took the 100 lbs top piece and managed to somehow balance it between the two main side pieces and I have a retarded, but somewhat stable desk. What I’m probably going to do is casually look for another desk whle praying that this one stays in place because if it doesn’t, it’s gg entire setup.
As for poker, I’m gonna go back to $36 turbo 9 man stts during the week to try and grind out some cash because I’m on a 2k~ downswing mostly from multis. Let’s make some money one time.
Peace

I forgot what it’s like to just wake up with nothing planned, just ready to sit down and play Mtts all day long. Yes, it can be mentally draining but I actually enjoyed it. I put in 3 full days over the weekend. Results wise I think I ended up being down 1000-1500 which is fine by me. For starters, I’m rusty from not playing and I think overall I ran below expectation. I’m very proud of how I controlled tilting. I can’t remember once where I was tilted while playing or after playing so to me that’s a successful weekend. I didn’t play sngs last night and I don’t plan on playing any tonight because I want to get a few things done before I start playing again. I really plan on putting in a lot of hours this month and hopefully making a lot of moneyyyyy.
One timeeeeeeeeeeee
