2008
After 6k hands of $200nl, I lost ~6 buy-ins. Last Saturday I played a 12 hour day of just Mtts. I had the biggest 24 hour net loss in probably 8 months. On Sunday I played the Sunday Brawl and Sunday Warm Up. I finished 103rd and 102nd. I’ve whined enough about a sick beat I took for the chiplead with 105 left in the Brawl so I’ll spare ya. What I will tell you is that in those two tournaments, I played the best poker I have in all of 2008. I was in the zone. The same zone that I was in when I won the $25k grtd. Since Sunday, I haven’t played at all. Mostly due to the fact that my sleep schedule is still fucked up.
Yesterday I found out that all 4 applications that I submitted a long time ago did not go through. I’m fed up with the college process to be perfectly honest so I started really thinking about my future. I came up with an idea that I was actually really excited about. I thought what if I go to a local community college and get an apartment and pay for it with my poker winnings. I think out of all my potential options for next year, this would make me the happiest.
That’s just an option that I’m considering. Whether it’ll actually happen will mostly depend on how much money I make in the very near future from poker. We’re almost 1/3 of the way through 2008, and overall I’m down money. This is a huuuuge problem. I’m re-evaluating my whole situation and trying to figure out what I should do. When I come up with something, I’ll let you know.

I’ll make a post. I felt kinda bad about making another rant post so I was gonna follow it up with a post about some good things happening in my life and poker. Unfortunately all those things went to hell a day later : / Since then I had been lazy up until Saturday when I think I came down with some form of the flu and I’ve been sick since then. As I type this, I do feel better but nowhere near 100%.
I put in 20k hands of .50/1NL 6 max and ended up profiting $3k. So yesterday I decided to make the move up to $200nl. It started off pretty well winning 3 buy-ins, but unfortunately due to a couple coolers and a couple retarded plays, I managed to end up stuck a buy in at the end of the day. Blahhhh. The games are much much tougher so I’m definitely gonna have to work harder than I did playing $100NL. Lucky for me, I’ll have plenty of time this week because I’m on spring break and not going on vacation. Wait that’s unlucky for me. Meh, it’s about time I start putting in some hours anyway.
No worry Team Msals, I’ll mix in some Mtts so I can get us 8 zillion cashes and no final tables. I had another one of those cashes in a 10k freeroll on Sunday. It was an interesting tournament because for the first 90 minutes of the tournament, until I was very short stacked, I raised literally every single hand that was folded to me. That means I was raising 72o utg, etc. Kind of an interesting experiment. I know CTS was talking in a $200NL CR vid how he tried for a week raising every single time it was folded to him on the button and it really helped him. It was more of a fun experiment than a learning experience but I think I might try to pull an Annette type stunt soon. Obviously if I do, I’ll let ya know how it goes. Alright time to get drugged up so I can beat this flu.

without a problem with my HP laptop or monitor. That all came to an end today. I turn on my monitor and there’s a vertical green line going down the middle of my screen. I didn’t think much of it, tried to get rid of it but it wouldn’t go away. I restarted, still was there. So I call up HP Tech support, and the first thing they ask for is the serial number. It’s on the back of the monitor and it was in ridiculously impossible to read print. I have really good vision and I couldn’t read one number. So I get the magnifying glass and even with that, I couldn’t make out one number. Like WHAT THE FUCK. They couldn’t help me at all if I couldn’t give that to them and they didn’t have it on record, nothin. Thankfully I was smart enough to save the box and it had the serial number on it. Two hours into them troubleshooting, they say that they need to ship me out a new monitor. They schedule a callback in 10 minutes to get all my information. 90 minutes later, they call. Turns out I apparently have to pay for them to ship me a replacement and I have to reship my defective one within 3 days or I’ll be charged for the replacement. The guy told me it’ll take 4 days and that he had just emailed me all the info. A half an hour after I hang up the phone, I get the email. After going over the exact billing address and shipping address a million times, he somehow finds a way to mix up the two while completely butchering my last name. I’m very skeptical if this thing will be shipped out on time or if I’ll even receive it at all. Whatever the case may be, I’m pretty pissed off about the whole situation. HP has planted the seed towards growing into the Dell pricker bush.
Peace
