I’ve been itching to play poker for a couple days but not having the time plus my Internet connection being dreadful has forced me to not be able to play. The plan was to play $24 turbo stts while mixing in some multis so that’s what I did today. Played 4 multis, bricked’em, while playing sngs. Played 50 stts, and ended the night with a +27% ROI. Obviously sickly small sample size but the play was atrocious. I’m rusty in sngs but once I get some more feel for it, I’m confident I’ll be able to crush stts once again and get back to the form that I was at when I was grinding the $33s. It’s not about ego for me. I could care less about ppl sucking my dick because I can put in volume playing Mtts. My goal is to make money and whatever I have to play to do that, I’m willing to.
As for the apartment, I keep getting asked when I’m going to move in. The answer is I don’t know. We plan on moving my bed in this weekend but that’s barring a thunderstorm. The fact of the matter is I really need to stop waking up at 3pm and just go down to my place, get shit ready and set up up cable/internet. I’ll keep ya updated.

My mom and step-dad are away on vacation in NY so I’m taking care of the two dogs for the week. Last night I decided to order a Wii online because it was a pretty good deal and I could get it for today. Since I knew I’d have to be there today to sign for it, I decided to watch the Home Run Derby then call it a night. I watched a ton of pregame so I knew Josh Hamilton was the favorite and I was looking forward to seeing if he lived up to the hype. Boy did he ever. I’m still in awe of the fact that he jacked 28 home runs in the first round and almost all of them were complete bombs. He has such an incredible story, it almost doesn’t seem possible. Even though I am a believer I’m normally against people thanking the Lord or Jesus Christ on a public stage but I was all for it last night. His comeback is so inspiring and he relates to so many kids out there that it was truly something special. From the number one pick in the ‘99 draft, to rock bottom, to captivating all of Yankee Stadium is a quite a feat.
Unfortunately, I just found out that I’ll receive the Wii tomorrow instead of today which sucks but oh well. It also hit me while I was watching Hamilton that I think I have his rookie card signed and I think I have a jersey card or something of him. I’ll have to sift through all my cards to check though. I just remember buying a box of cards and the one real sick item was him and I was like who the fuck is this guy.
I didn’t have my laptop last night so I had to catch up on the Main Event updates today. Soooooooo disappointed at who’s at the FT. I have a very small rooting interest for Chino, that’s it. Also, I don’t think any of these guys winning will really be great for poker and apparently that’s what it’s all about this year right? Is that why we’re waiting till November 9th? Makes zero sense to me. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: you could accomplish the exact same thing waiting one month as you can four. It’s too bad because this year had the potential to have a really sick FT or at least one or two guys that you could have a strong rooting interest for i.e. Hellmuth, Mikey, Gus, Tiffany, Raptor, Ocrowe, Roothus, etc. Oh well, now we wait and in the meantime find out everything about these guys except for their penis sizes.
Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

I’m still moving boxes everyday but the place is really starting to come along. The other day I thought about turning the basement into some type of game room and I still might do that but this morning I have the urge to go out and buy a Nintendo Wii. The only problem is you can’t find them anywhere. I think Toys R Us might have them in stock with some sort of bundle deal but who knows. I really should be spending my money on stuff that I need like clothes and a new pair of sneakers but wtf do I know. I also bought a GPS for my car today which is really gonna help someone like myself who can’t find their way out of a driveway.
I think I’m on my way to running worse with cars than computers. Today, I typed in the address I was given of a friends house into my GPS and let it bring me there. Unfortunately when I got there, it was in the wrong address. So I pulled over, and double checked to make sure I got the right one. I didn’t, they told me ave but it was drive. So I went to start my car but it wouldn’t start. I tried 20 times but it just wouldn’t start. Awesome. Not the biggest deal except for the fact that my cell phone was dieing and I was in the middle of nowhere. None of my friends knew where the hell I was, my mom and step-dad were in NY, and my dad was out and not answering his phone. God, I run good. I had maybe 2 minutes of talking time left so I got the AAA number and hoped somehow they’d come out. Fortunately, by some miracle, even though I wasn’t added to the plan, nor was my vehicle registered with them, they came out anyway. The one-legged lady jump started my car after calling me a dumb shit and I was on my way.
The plan for today is go down to auto-zone, test to see if it’s the battery, and if it is then replace it. And if it’s something like the engine, sit in the garage and turn the car on. Then head down to Toys R Us and see if I can buy a Wii and if I can then play that all day. Also, I want to make at least one trip to bring some things down to my place and potentially move my bookcase and dresser into my room. Then if there’s time, go grocery shopping and add to the things I already got at Costco which included a huge box of Kit-Kats and Twizzlers.
Cheers

Yup, I lost the bet. I have no idea why but I woke up around 11am on Wednesday and I was exhausted. Throughout the whole day, I could barely keep my eyes open. It was very odd because the week leading up to the bet, I was staying up till 4-5am no problem. I told her (yes, I lost to a girl) how tired I was early in the day and she offered to call the bet off but I’m a man of my word. We made a bet so that means I need to follow through on the bet. At about 4am, she was starting to get tired but toughed it out, while I just couldn’t take it anymore and dozed off. By me losing the bet, I have to go out, buy a Hello Kitty toaster, invite as many people as possible over my house that day, show them all, then post pics of it on facebook. Embarrassing prop bets ftl imo.
Speaking of my house, I spent almost all day today packing boxes, bringing them over, unpacking, and repeating. I got a lot done and the place is starting to look like someone actually lives there. I’m really excited to get all my stuff in. Hopefully it doesn’t take too long.
As far as poker is concerned, I think what I’m going to do is withdraw a substantial amount of money to pay for the first 6 months of rent, first 6 months of car insurance, and have a good amount of money in the bank to be used as “life money.” Unfortunately this will leave my poker bankroll very short but that’s okay. I’ll just have to grind and build it up. I’m thinking of going back to my two strengths: Sngs and Mtts. We’ll see what happens

I’m still busy as hell which is why I haven’t got around to making the posts I’ve wanted to the last couple days. So lets recap a little bit. I left you with my plan for poker. During the past week, I’ve played 8,600 hands and ended up -$60 but including rake +$190. I played 21 hours and not everyday. I don’t feel too bad about not playing everyday or that I didn’t meet the minimum 40 hours per week goal because I just really haven’t had time. Cash games are more swingy than I anticipated. If I had wrote this blog two days ago I would have been up over 1k.
Yesterday I signed a 12 month lease for my own townhouse in Plainville, CT. It’s a two bedroom, two floor, full bath and basement place that’s in a great location for me. It’s a 4 minute drive to Tunxis which will be great for commuting next year. Don’t get me wrong, I’m completely stoked to have my own place at 18 years old but now the thought of paying for rent and all the bills I’m going to have stresses me out a little bit. I don’t have all that money saved up. I don’t know what you want to call me but I need to make money from poker. I won’t lie, I’m scared that I won’t be able to make all that money. So now I have a lot of options I have to consider. Do I want to withdraw everything, pay off the year’s rent, and be staked? Do I want to pay a couple months in advance and continue to try to make money from cash games? Mtts? Sngs? The options are endless so I’m gonna take my time figuring out what I want to do.
I also just got my license a couple days ago which was huge for me. It was a long time coming and it got rid of so many problems. Hopefully by the end of tomorrow I’ll have my own insurance, registration, car title, and license plates. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned from spending so much time in the DMV, it’s that you can’t count on anything to go as fast as you expect.
I can’t tell you how exciting all of this is and I can’t wait to move in. I’m gonna move my stuff over there very slowly over the next couple weeks and hopefully be in there by the beginning of August. Once I’m in, I’ll post pics if you guys want. I think that will be better than posting pics now b/c it’s completely empty so how exciting is that?
On Wednesday, I’m starting a no-sleep prop bet. As some of you already know, I’m notorious for my sleeping habits so this is gonna be really tough. I do have some motivation though as I would not like to be making toast with a Hello Kitty face on it. Details to come…..
Adios
