This was a statement made from one of my professors the other day after a student requested that he make the numbers on the board bigger so she could see them. It’s a seemingly harmless statement. But I began to think, what if that statement was made during this election by one of the candidates? How long do you think it would take before all the news stations had that headline as breaking news? How long would it take for Fox News to have a special alert saying Obama hates blind people? As we count down the final 9 days till the next President is decided, I hope the media doesn’t get too carried away with analyzing and dissecting every single thing said or done by either candidate.

As far as poker is concerned, I really haven’t played that much. I’ve played 3 matrix es with very good results, a step 1 that i turned into step 3 but bricked, and 20 $3-4 flips that I’m prob only down $20 on overall which is really good for how I run. I’ve been reeeeally lazy about getting back to playing full time but I did order 12 month CR sub so I’ve been watching some vids in the meantime. Who knows when I’ll get back to grinding but as for right now, I’m gonna see which FTOPS events I’m playing because I definitely am playing this time around.

Don’t write out a check for a bill on the day it’s due. They actually do shut off your shit. Out of nowhere internet collapses and sure enough, cable was dissconnected too. Woops. This meant I wasn’t able to watch Game 6-7 of ALCS, PSU on Saturday, and Cowboys on Sunday at my house. Thankfully Comcast reconnected me this morning. As for those games, PSU and Game 6 goooooot, Game 7 and Cowboys baaaaaaaad. I was planning on writing a whole entry about the Game 5 win entitled “Ultimate Bliss” before I was struck by the doomswitch.

That night the Sox came back from being down 7-0 in the bottom of the 7th, you prob could’ve got me to do anything. I mean I ran around the apartment complex at 2am for christ sake. To me, that made the season. It didn’t even matter if they made the World Series or not. Obviously I’m dissapointed they didn’t but I can’t be greedy. We’ve won 2 WS in 4 years. As for the Cowboys, I dunno wtf is goin on but it needs to change like….ummmm….now. Penn State is just kicking ass right now and I’m pumped for Saturday’s game vs. OSU. I remember the PSU vs. OSU game I went to a couple years ago which was amazing.

Ahhhhh poker. I haven’t played in what seems like months but in reality is about a week. I’m not really motivated at all at the moment but meh, I’m sure I’ll get back into it. I need to make that rent money sooooo on that note……

Well the Red Sox are in the ALCS and won Game 1 which was huuuuuuuge. Game 2 tilted me hard. The strike zone was a joke but w/e, hats off to the Rays for getting back in the series. Tonight’s game will be key, I think if the sox can string together a win, they’ll win the series.

The Cowboys fucked up again today losing their 2nd game of the season so my 14-2 regular season prediction isn’t looking too hot. I just hope they can turn it around and not allow the media or actual team distractions hurt them. They’re a good team and should be real Superbowl contenders but right now they’re not playing like it.

My Penn State Nittany Lions are now ranked #3 in the country. I’m going to the last game of the regular season against Michigan State in November which as Matt pointed out, could be the game that puts them in the BCS title game. That would be so sickkkk. Go PSU!

As for SNGS, I’ve been 6 tabling the $24 stts this month because I figured out that the only way 6 tabling becomes less profitable than 4 tabling is if my ROI is cut exactly in half. I don’t expect that to happen but if it does, then I’ll go back to 4 tabling, no biggie.

So in this small sample my ROI is actually the same as it was 4 tabling. I really should have played 400 by now but I’ve just been super lazy and I’ve also been playing the steps so yeah. Hopefully I can really plug in some hours late in the month so I can continue to get fast food twice a day.

Once again it’s that time of year. The time of year that Red Sox fans used to ask themselves “what is it going to be this time that makes me want to jump off a bridge?” No, now it’s the time of year when Sox fans ask themselves “When is the World Series and where can I get tickets?” Don’t get me wrong, we’re still pessimistic in nature, just not as much. Even though we swept the Angels the last two years when we played them in the ALDS, I still fear them more than any other team. They pitch well, field well, and they run the bases like no other.

Game 1 was a sweat but once again ty Mr. Drew for another clutch HR. He seemed very excited about it after the game when he almost cracked a smile. Game 2 I honestly don’t remember that well. Prob b/c I fell asleep in like the third inning thanks to TBS brutalizing east coast fans and making us stay up till ungodly hours, thanks guys. The way I saw Game 3 was that it was a classic baseball game. Two very good teams just battling it out and it could go either way. Fortunately, the last couple years the sox have had most of these games go their way. This one didn’t, oh well. Game 4 was a nail biter. I wasn’t sure if this year since I followed the Red Sox much less than I did last year (I still watched about half the games) that I wouldn’t be as into the post season as I should. But you know I’m into the playoffs when I’m cursing at the tv, giving the finger to the opposing team and telling the umpire to blow me. Which is exactly what i did in game 4. When Kotsay hit the liner right at Teixera I mirrored Phil Hellmuth when he hit the deck after Chris Ferguson hit the 9 ball on the river in the HU Championship. Lucky for me, I got up just in time to see Jed Lowie come up soooo clutch with the series winner.

Just a few post-game comments: A.) GFY ESPN and all the other sports networks that suggest that the Varitek tag wasn’t legit and the Angles got jipped, etc. THIS IS NOT FOOTBALL PEOPLE. You have to have possession of the ball when you tag someone, not keep it after you fall. B.) Lol at John Lackey for saying the Red Sox were not a better team. First of all, you’re right. The Angels were a MUCH better team in the team in the regular season. But that means NOTHING, I repeat, NOTHING in the playoffs. Idc who you are, the playoffs are a different animal and until the Angels can stop sucking against us when it means something, then you don’t have the right to say shit. C.) The Rays/Sox series should be a good one. Myself and most ppl underestimated the Rays. I still can’t believe their story this year from the punch line of every baseball joke to ALCS in one year. Pretty unbelievable. Hopefully the Sox can advance and play the Dodgers. Tbh I would’ve rather seen the Cubbies and the Brewers advance but Manny back in Fenway for the World Series would be……interesting. That’s it for now.

I’ve been looking forward to this entry for a long time now. I can’t believe the first entry I made here on the pokerhaus was almost 2 years ago! Time flies when you’re a degenerate. I’ve been reading some of my earliest posts and they’re funny. It’s basically me bitching about anything and everything. I also go on to say how great I am and discuss in detail hands that no one cares about. lol   I’m happy I do this blog because it’s fun looking back to see what my mindset was at certain times. I also want to thank the loyal readers that have followed this blog from the beginning. You guys are the reason I force my lazy ass to make an entry every once in a while. 

Anyways so let’s talk about what’s been going on. Well, I haven’t started 6 tabling the 24s yet but that’s just a bi-product of me being lazy. I’ll get around to it hopefully tomorrow. What I have been playing is the steps with Champ. Since dereeeeek is too much of a nit, it looks like he won’t be joining us in the bunk bed at PCA. Both of us got a step 4 ticket and when we played that, he bubbled finishing 3rd and I got a step 5 ticket. As I mentioned in the last entry, I thought I wouldn’t have an edge in step 5 but I couldn’t have been more wrong. I’d be willing to bet that every single person at my step 5 table would not turn a profit in $24 stts. They were that bad. So b/c of that, I got a step 6 ticket. The $2,100 last step 9 man with 3 paying and first paying a seat in the PCA and 4300 in cash. Ironically instead of going to bed at 8am, I WOKE UP at 8am so I decided to register. 3.5 hours later we were off.

My table played very well. I tested them a little bit early and was promptly re popped lol. 5 handed folded to me in the sb I shoved 10x w/K9 and was snapped by A9, gg. Oh K on flop? Hmmmm ok. We got into the money and the LAG big stack called a reshove w/A8s vs QQ and spiked an ace so we were heads up. 2nd paid $2,100, 1rst paid an effective $14,300. I had 6k to 21k w/blinds 300/600. I shoved A7, got called by A9, and flopped a 7 obvsly. At one point I had very slight chip lead on him. But made some mistakes and was chopped down to 9k at 400/800 and I shoved K6s otb, ran into his A9 and the board bricked out. Yuck.

Not gonna lie, I was disappointed but can’t complain that’s for sure. I played 4 step 1s ($7.50 each) and cashed for $2,100. Not to mention, I had a great rooting section including Bob railing from a parking lot. Lol thanks buddy. Oh wellz, I hope I get another shot at a seat. The actual tournament is a bonus to me. I just wanna go down to the Bahamas and chill on the beach then get hammered at night. I mean uhhhhh, sorry mom.

Yeah…..it’s gonna be one of those blogs. I haven’t updated in a while so let’s recap. There was one day near the end of September where I got flat out owned posting a -26% ROI for the day and since then, I’ve played a total of 8 sngs. I kind of wanted a break from the grind so I took the last week of September off. For the month of September I ended up +$2000. Not fantastic but for sure I’ll take it. Posted a 10% ROI, ended up being ranked 37th on the SNG Leaderboard, and most importantly I didn’t hang myself. I’m going to do a little more number crunching but I’m pretty sure I’m gonna try and 6 table $24s for the month of October and see how it goes.

As for right now, I’m enjoying HORSE cash games. No that was not a typo, I really did just say that I’m enjoying HORSE cash games. There’s been a lot of these “days” where I’m going to bed when normal ppl wake up so I’ve been firing up the smallest limits and playing some poker. Shockingly, at .25/.50 HORSE I’ve won $50-70 in prob 5-6 hours of play. Lol   God only knows how that happened. It’s been fun though figuring out how to play as I go along.

I’ve also been playing the Step Sngs to the PCA on Stars. I wanted to go last year but due to the fact that I turned 18 in mid December and to qualify and then miss school, idk it just didn’t work out. This year is a different story. I actually would be able to go to the Bahamas np b/c I’d still be on winter break from college. It’s prob the only big live tourney I can play for a very long time so I want to get in baddddd.

I’ve played the Step 1 SNG 4 times and atm I have one Step 4 ticket and one Step 2 ticket so we’ll see what happens. I have a huuuuuge edge over Step 1 players, a definite edge on Step 2 players, Step 3 players really surprised me, I think I only have a slight edge over them but Step 4 I doubt I’ll have an edge. So what all this edge talk means is that I should be able to get to Step 4 fairly easily but then I need to run goooot to get PCA seat.

As for school, I’ve gotten super lazy skipping class and not doing homework but who can focus on school when the Red Sox are playing in the ALDS? They won in very nice fashion last night and I’m hoping the series doesn’t go 4 games b/c I might have to miss class if it does. Also, the Cowboys’ loss last week was pretty brutal but I think it’s to be expected. Any team in the NFC East is tough and losing to any one of them should not be a shock. Cowboys are still clear favorites to win the Super Bowl so I can’t complain. Not to mention my Penn State Nittany Lions ranked 6th in the country! Woooot! Hopefully they’re still playing well by the time I make it out to a game in late November.

The last thing I wanna mention is that I’ve been watching a ton of YouTube videos lately. Don’t ask me why. I’ve never been into that but all of sudden I’m like omg I need to see every cat fighting a printer video available! While doing so I obviously have watched a ton of political videos and came across this site.

It basically has a ton of videos which show how ridiculous FOX News is. Some of them made me laugh because of how stupid O’Reilly and especially Sean Hannity are (like I needed anymore proof). If you want to know how or why FOX News is so biased I suggest watching “Outfoxed.” Youtube it, it’s long but very interesting imo.

I have been following politics very closely and being up all night I think I saw the debate 2 full times and prob an hour of clips from it on various news stations. To me, it didn’t change much. I assume that’s how most ppl feel. If you liked John McCain beforehand, you thought he did great and same goes for Barack Obama. So obviously I think Obama did a great job. With that being said, I don’t think McCain hurt himself. What has killed him has been the economic crisis. It appears the bailout bill will pass assuming the house doesn’t do anything silly. In a selfish way I almost want them to put off the bill for a little longer so McCain can slip in the polls even more. The more I learn about this guy, the more I’m disgusted. Not even just him but Sarah Palin. Should be an interesting debate tonight. I was thinking about what it would take for Republicans to say that she didn’t do good in the debate and I came up with as long as she doesn’t call Obama a terrorist or the n word, they’ll prob say she did great. It’s basically a win/win or a lose/lose depending on how you look at it. If you’re a Republican and she comes off as Ms. Hockey mom who doesn’t know anything then they’ll say she’s relatable to the people and if she comes off intelligent and very knowledgeable they’ll say “see! she knows whats up! she can run the country!” To the contrary, if you’re a Democrat then if she comes off as Hockey mom, you’ll be scared shitless that someone so clueless is a heartbeat away from being the most important person in the United States of America. If she comes off as very knowledgeable they’ll say well she was just well studied and remembered her notes from the McCain debate boot camp. As for Biden he just has to avoid doing anything stupid, as long as he does that, I’m satisfied. This debate isn’t about him, it’s about Ms. I can see Russia from my house. K enough
